NAO Expedition Package


The NAO Expedition Package combines our high quality restoration work with parts and equipment designed to enhance the off-road capabilities of the Series and Defender Land Rovers.

NAO Expedition Package Applied to Defender

BUMPER AND WINCH

A heavy duty winch-bumper and Warn 9000-lb winch are installed. The bumper is more than twice the thickness of the original bumper. A Brownchurch brush-guard is installed to protect the radiator from damage off road.

AXLES

An ARB air locker is installed in the rear axle, the rear half-shafts are replaced with Ashcroft heavy duty half-shafts. The front axle also has an ARB locking differential installed. The front half-shafts are replaced with Ashcroft 24 spline heavy duty half shafts and heavy duty CV joints. A galvanized steel differential guard is installed. Magnetic drain plugs are added to both front and rear axles.

SUSPENSION

Old man Emu suspension is used and is tailored to the weight of the vehicle.

TIRES AND WHEELS

The Land Rover is equipped with 255 85 16 BF Goodrich KM3 mud-terrain tires. The tires are mounted on steel “Wolf” wheels.

RECOVERY POINTS

Jate Rings are installed, front and rear, to provide strong frame mounted recovery points.

BODY PROTECTION

Rock sliders are installed to protect the body from rocks and other obstacles off-road. The rock sliders are boxed steel construction. Bumperettes are installed to protect the rear of the body and quarter panels.

FUEL SYSTEM

A heavy duty aluminum skid plate is installed to protect the fuel tank from rock damage off-road.

CARGO TIE DOWN POINTS

Cargo lashing rings are installed in the load bay to safely secure cargo.

RECOVERY KIT AND TOOLS

The Land Rover is equipped with a complete recovery kit, tool kit, and first aid kit. A high lift jack is installed for jacking up the vehicle off road.

RAISED AIR INTAKE

A raised air intake is installed to help minimize dust intake and protect the engine water water ingest during river crossings.

ROLL CAGE

An external roll cage is installed that is attached to the frame at six points. It is designed to protect the occupants and minimize damage to the the vehicle in a roll over.

STEERING

A heavy duty high clearance track rod is installed to gain additional clearance under the axle.

ELECTRICAL

LED headlights, parking lights, turn signals, tail lights and reverse lights are installed. These are brighter and much more vibration, dust, and water resistant than the stock lights.

BATTERY

An Odyssey Extreme absorbed-glass-mat battery is installed. This battery is much more vibration and heat resistant than a normal lead-acid battery.

BODY (OPTIONAL)

The body panels are painted in NAO Expedition Tan. This paint has a matte finish which resists scratches better than high gloss paint. The muted tan color does not show mud and dirt as readily as darker colors. This means that the Land Rover will look presentable in an off-road setting.

NAO Expedition Package Applied to Series

BUMPER AND WINCH

A galvanized, heavy duty winch-bumper and Warn 8274 8000-lb winch are installed. The bumper is more than twice the thickness of the original bumper.

AXLES

The rear axle has a limited slip differential installed to provide improved traction in rocky or muddy terrain. The 10 spine rear half-shafts are replaced with heavy duty alloy steel 24 spline units. The front axle also has a limited slip differential installed. A galvanized steel differential guard is installed to protect the differential housing from impact with rocks.

TIRES AND WHEELS

The Land Rover is equipped with 7.50 16 BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain KO3 tires. The tires are mounted on early Defender tubeless steel wheels.

RECOVERY POINTS

Frame mounted recovery points are provide front and rear. A 2" receiver hitch is installed on the rear to accept a D-ring hitch receiver and military air-lift rings are installed on the front bumper to provide strong recovery points.

BODY PROTECTION

Galvanized rock sliders are installed to protect the body from rocks and other obstacles off-road. The rock sliders are boxed steel construction and mounted to the frame.

FUEL SYSTEM

A heavy duty galvanized steel skid plate is installed to protect the fuel tank from rock damage off-road.

CARGO TIE DOWN POINTS

Cargo lashing rings are installed in the load bay to safely secure cargo while traveling rough roads and trails.

RECOVERY KIT AND TOOLS

The Land Rover is equipped with a complete recovery kit, tool kit, and first aid kit. A High Lift jack is installed in the load bay for jacking up the vehicle off-road. A Hudson Bay axe and Carter Expedition Shovel are installed in the load bay as well.
