Here is a very low mileage 2008 Tacoma, a no frills truck that is perfect for overlanding where reliability and simplicity are important attributes of the vehicle.

In 2018 I purchased it from the original owner with only 38,000 miles on it. As soon as I purchased it I base lined the vehicle by changing all fluids, front and rear diff fluid, trans and transfer case fluid, engine oil, brake and clutch fluid and coolant.

To prepare the vehicle for camping and overlanding I installed Old Man Emu springs and shocks which lifted the vehicle about 2” but more importantly gave the vehicle a better ride off road and improved its load carrying ability. I also installed an ARB bumper and a made-in-USA Warn M8000 winch. I mounted 245 75 16 BF Goodrich tires to the stock steel wheels. I installed a heavy duty front recovery hook from a TRD Tacoma. To protect the contents of the bed I added a lockable Retrax retraceable tonneau cover and locking rear tailgate handle. I also have a Best Top Supertop soft cap to use for camping or sleeping in the bed. I added two more factory Toyota tie down rings in the bed and a few smaller ones above the wheel wells.

On the interior I replaced the stock bench seats with bucket seats from the same year Tacoma. I installed a Sony NEX double din head unit and and intermittent wiper switch. The truck is ready to drive anywhere in the world, it has no issues, no check engine light, no frame rust. I have driven the truck cross country twice and both times it was a pleasure to drive. It is smooth and quiet and there are no rattles or vibrations.

The truck has a clear CT title in my name and is ready for the next owner to drive and enjoy.
